New Research: Probiotics Can Fight Cancer

Cancer, or malignant tumor, has become one of the most common deadly diseases. The world produces about 11 million new cancer cases every year, of which 20.3 percent are new cancer cases in China every year. It has always been a public enemy of health. The occurrence of cancer is closely related to genetic factors, environmental pollution, bad habits, dietary nutrition, viral infection and radiation. The most common cancers are lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, and women: breast cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, cervical cancer. Cancer is caused by the transformation of the proto-oncogenes of normal cells into uncontrolled abnormal cells activated by mutagens. What role can probiotics play in two key aspects of cancer prevention?

First, let's look at the formation or source of carcinogens. Trillions of bacteria in the intestine make up a small chemical plant, in which harmful bacteria break down digested food and other substances in the body into many carcinogens, the most common of which are nitrosamines, indole, phenols and secondary bile acids. We also eat foods that contain precancerous and carcinogenic substances (mainly marinate, smoke, roast, and fry). How do probiotics deal with them? First, probiotics can inhibit carcinogens and precancerous substances by binding, blocking, or removing them. It can also inhibit the activity of bacteria and enzymes that may convert precancerous substances into carcinogens. Simply put, probiotics can absorb carcinogens and process or transfer carcinogens, reducing their toxicity. Probiotics help keep the body away from harmful bacteria and enzymes, so they have no chance of processing carcinogens. Harmful and poisonous substances cannot enter the blood and spread all over the body. The most typical example is probiotics, which can reduce the activity of fecal enzymes and effectively prevent cancer. Secondly, probiotics can acidify the intestinal tract and regulate the intestinal flora, thus reducing the number of harmful bacteria and changing the solubility of bile. It reduces the conversion of bile acid to the carcinogen. Third, probiotics can promote intestinal peristalsis and accelerate the excretion of harmful carcinogens in feces.

For the second key point, probiotics also play a role in abnormal cells. First, probiotics can activate the immune system and improve the immune response. Once there are abnormal cells in the body, the immune system will quickly detect them and an immune response will occur. Eighty percent of our immune cells are in the gut, and the tumor necrosis factor, interleukin and interferon produced by immune cells are all weapons against tumors. Second, probiotics produce compounds that inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Like some functional glycopeptides. Third, probiotics can produce mutagenic substances and block the attack of harmful cells, inhibit the transformation of abnormal cells, and play a role in preventing cancer and cancer.
