It is said that probiotics can maintain the balance of intestinal flora and are good for the health of babies, and many mothers will buy them for drinking. But do all babies need probiotics? Besides probiotics, what other foods are also rich in probiotics?

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are a branch of bacteria. The definition generally accepted by the international nutritional community is that probiotics is a kind of bacteria that is beneficial to animals. They can be taken as food additives to maintain the balance of intestinal flora, inhibit the anaerobic bacteria in the intestinal tract, improve the micro-ecology in the intestinal tract, and promote the normal physiological and immune functions of the intestinal tract.

It's important to note that babies generally need some extra probiotics in the following three situations:

When the child is sick, he needs to take antibiotics (especially broad-spectrum antibiotics)

Some probiotics can be added appropriately, because antibiotics (especially broad-spectrum antibiotics) can kill pathogenic bacteria and potentially injure some good bacteria. Long-term use of antibiotics is likely to cause intestinal flora imbalance, and lactobacillus LB powder is recommended, which can strongly hinder the adhesion of pathogenic bacteria to intestinal cells and has the effect of resisting pathogenic bacteria. Probiotics contained in the LB powder of lactobacillus are inactivated probiotics, which are used together with antibiotics and will not be killed by broad-spectrum antibiotics and affect the curative effect.

2 baby dyspepsia, constipation, etc

Probiotics, such as mummy love or bifidobacterium bifidobacterium, can be selected when the child has mild symptoms such as indigestion, constipation and diarrhea, which can help improve symptoms.

3 under certain circumstances

For example, during the baby's gradual transition from breast milk to formula, or on the way to travel with the baby, children can be given some foods with probiotics added to prevent some gastrointestinal symptoms caused by environmental changes.

Do long-term probiotics have side effects

Probiotics, such as mummy love, live bacteria dispersant and lactobacillus LB powder, have rare side effects and occasionally flatulence. If used as a treatment for diarrhea and constipation, the symptoms can be stopped after the symptoms disappear. It should be noted that some probiotic preparations contain added ingredients, such as lactose, which are contraindicated for babies born with lactose deficiency.

In addition to probiotics, babies can eat three kinds of food at ordinary times to maintain the balance of intestinal flora:

1

buttermilk

It is fermented by lactobacillus and cultured to produce probiotics. One cup of low-fat buttermilk has only 98 calories and provides 28 percent of the calcium you need. Buttermilk is suitable for drinking directly or serving as a fruit salad.

2

cheese

Not all cheeses are good sources of probiotics, but some cheeses contain probiotics that can survive in the gut and continue to fuel your health. These cheeses are made by lactobacillus bacteria, which ferment milk for days, weeks, and even years after it is made into cheese, creating probiotics in the process. Some cottage cheese labeled "active" also contain probiotics.

3

miso

Miso is produced when soybeans are left to ferment, a process that produces probiotics. A tablespoon of miso contains only 40 calories, but the saltiness is so strong that it equals one-third of the daily intake of sodium and should not be given to the baby. You can use a small spoonful of miso to substitute for salt, or you can just make the miso soup.

Precautions for probiotics supplementation

❀ enshine fungi food or drugs between meals or with fruit juice, milk, etc. At the same time taking. Should not be taken with antibiotics at least two hours apart.

❀ dose of probiotics vary from person to person, the general recommendation adult daily and not more than 500 ml; Children can also drink moderate amounts, and children in the first year of life are not recommended to drink large amounts.

❀ probiotic yogurt recently in selecting a date. Yoghurt cannot cook heat, also cannot use microwave to heat, otherwise lactobacillus can be killed, lose original health care effect. Therefore, yogurt can only be cold drinks, or put in warm water after drinking.
